BusyBusyBusy

It's been a crazy few days around here. On Thursday night, Dean and I went out for dinner to celebrate our 5th anniversary. FIVE years, can you believe it? Oh how time flies. We went to the Flat Iron downtown. It was, hands-down, the best meal we have ever had. Everything was delicious. It was the perfect place for a special occasion.

Our actual anniversary was the next day--Friday April 2nd. We both had the day off so we could spend some time together as a family. We took Ayla to the Omaha Children's Museum for the first time. We picked an extremely busy day so it was pretty crowded. Overwhelming, in fact. I think all three of us were wide-eyed from sensory overload. Ayla's favorite was the water exhibit--half of her shirt was soaked but she was having so much fun, we just let her keep doing it. She kept turning around and smiling at us, as if to say, "I can't believe you're letting me play in this!" We were there for about an hour and then headed out to lunch and then home.
After Ayla's nap, Dean brought her over to Grandma and Grandpa's so we could get ready for Jim and Lisa's wedding rehearsal and dinner. The dinner was at Malara's. Amazing. So good. We ended the night with a couple of drinks before heading home to try and get a good night's sleep for the Big Day. On Saturday, Ayla went from Grandma and Grandpa's to Yeh-Yeh and Nai-Nai's. Dean and I were both out of the house by morning for wedding-related activities. The wedding was an absolute blast. Lisa looked gorgeous, the decorations were incredible, everything went so well. It was such a fun night with all of our friends. Thanks to our friend, Megan, we had a huge suite at the Hilton downtown so several of us were able to crash there after the wedding. This morning when we woke up, the suite and those of us in it, closely resembled scenes from the movie, The Hangover. It was hilarious. We all got pretty silly last night.
And a Happy Easter to everyone...we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner. We were able to sit outside for a while and enjoy the weather. Ayla got lots of fun Easter goodies from Aunt Marla and Grandma and Grandpa, including a cute little lawn chair that she decided to drag all over the yard. She was, unfortunately, very fussy during dinner and didn't eat a single thing. What can you do? We all have our moments. Thank you to our parents for taking care of Ayla all weekend while we were busy with everything. We so so so appreciate the constant help we receive from you all.

What a jam-packed weekend. Totally fun though.

However...

I. Am. Pooped.
