The Pumpkin Patch

We went to Pooley's Pumpking Patch today after breakfast. I think I've been looking forward to this more than Ayla. Our neighbors, David, Megan, and their little boy, Jack had the same idea...as well as Meghan, Chris, and Heidi so we all met up there for a few fun hours. Here's our day in pictures:
Ayla running toward the entrance.
Feeding the chickens with Daddy.
She has been talking about petting the baby chicks all week but was a little apprehensive at first. She got really close and just giggled. Attempt #2: She actually touched it!

Playing in "Cornyville"--it's a grain silo filled with a few inches of dried corn kernels and a bunch of buckets, shovels, and scoops--like a sandbox. The kids loved it!

Giant tire swing!
Driving the tractor.
Leading the way in the corn maze.
Chris picked an ear of corn for each of the kids...Heidi loved hers...she held onto it for the rest of the time we were there, brought it home, and I heard she even took it with her to take a nap. :)
All three kiddos in the hay bales...not sure if it was a mini-maze or a pen.
Checking out the piggies.
Jack petting a bunny.
Ayla and Heidi looking at the bunnies from a safe distance. :)
"Piggy-back ride!"
Walking with Daddy toward the pony ride line...she was so excited for this...could hardly wait her turn.
Parents could walk next to their children while the ponies were going in a circle but one of the girls working there asked if she could do it instead because that particular horse didn't like having people next to it. Awesome. Did I really just put my 2-year old on a horse that doesn't like people?
On the hayrack ride to go pick out pumpkins.
Taking a quick break to "fly" with Daddy.
"How 'bout this one?"
Back from the patch and sitting at the "Corn Shooter." I think they're starting to look a little worn out...
Picking out a little pumpkin.
One more stop at the corn silo after lunch.
Time to head back to the cars to go home and take naps.
We had a fun, fun time...there's nothing better than seeing your kids have such a good time. I think I said this last year--I'd definitely recommend Pooley's. Sure it's not as big and flashy as Vala's, but it's half the price and it's perfect for younger kids. There definitely was plenty to keep them busy...and happy. :)
