Grandma and Grandpa came and picked us up today (just Ayla and me...Daddy's camping with the boys this weekend) and we went downtown to meet Aunt Marla and her friend, Kendra, to go to the Taste of Omaha. We walked around, grabbed a couple of things to eat, and just enjoyed the day...the very humid day. Ayla was in such a great mood...she had taken a nice long nap right before we left and with all the action going on around her, she was thrilled. She didn't break down until a few minutes before we were ready to head home...at that point, she was nearly two hours beyond her naptime. Yikes. She fell asleep on the way home and it was enough to take the edge off because she wouldn't go back to sleep once we were home.

Had to take her outside to cheer her up and dry up the tears after a failed attempt at getting her to nap.
Minus the ten-minute nap on the way home from downtown and another five-minute snooze on the way back from Runza later into the evening, she hung on 'til bedtime with lots of playtime. She's so fun to watch while she's playing...such a busy little baby.

We've had a nice weekend so far. Tomorrow we're going to Heidi's FIRST birthday party...she's turning ONE, can you believe it?! And Daddy will be home in the afternoon...all dirty and stinky from his man-weekend. :)
