We had a great St.Patrick's Day and not a single green beer was involved. :) It was a family day and it was a fabulous one. We spent a lot of time outside...ate lunch on the deck and roasted marshmallows after dinner. It was Dean's idea...he and Ayla went out to look for sticks to use. Ayla thought we were going to go camping. :) There's an episode of one of her favorite cartoons where the family goes camping and roasts marshmallows. She was so confused when we told her we wouldn't be sleeping in a tent. :) She got a kick out of the marshmallows until it ended up all over her face, hands, and hair. The child does not like to be messy. After roasting and eating just one, she told us she was done. She opted for unroasted ones right out of the bag instead. It was pretty short-lived but completely worth it when she looked at us happily and said, "This is a fun night!" We let Aubree have a couple of tiny bites. She spent most of the time trying to wiggle out of our arms. It was a really great weekend overall--today we had Aubree's first birthday party...lots of pictures to come!
