We played in the sprinklers one afternoon. Ayla, of course, had a blast. It was Aubree's first time running in the sprinklers...she didn't really like it. I think she wanted to love it, but every time she got hit by the water, she ran away with a worried look on her face. She was happy to just play in the bowl of water I filled for her. :)
Love those squishy legs! |
Project #2: decorating foam butterflies with glitter pens. She got such a kick out of squeezing piles of glitter out onto the butterflies. It was so funny. Every time she did it, she let out this dorky little laugh. :) At one point, she proudly stated that she had used up the whole pen on one butterfly. Those suckers didn't dry for hours.
Halfway through the butterflies, the cookies we made were ready! They were sooo yummy! Chocolate with chocolate and white chips. (They weren't from scratch...they came out of a bag and all we had to do was plop these little dough chunks onto the cookie sheet...perfect for little hands to do.)
I bought her her first pair of little kiddie scissors. She thought it was so cool. She must have sat at that table and cut foam paper for over an hour. She glued just a few pieces onto a sheet of paper...the rest just ended up in a huge pile. :)
Next up, beaded necklaces. She really liked doing this...it kept her busy for quite a while. She made a bracelet that was too big and a necklace that was too small. Totally my fault. I didn't pay attention to how much string I was cutting.
After she was done with the necklaces and Aubree was up from her nap, we went to go visit Grandma at work. She wanted to bring Grandma something for "pretend Mother's Day" so she put both necklaces in a box, along with one cookie, and a wet glittery art project. :) They were both little madwomen running through Grandma's office. Since we were so close, we decided to go visit Daddy at work as well. By that point, they were even crazier. I think the frosted sugar cookies Grandma gave them kicked in. :) So funny.
