Fun at home

Besides a quick trip to the mall and out for lunch, we were at home for much of the day.

Ayla still likes to haul every single blanket she owns into her crib. Now she likes to add one more on top to create a tent...and then just like before, she tosses everything back out.

We read the same couple of books to her every night before bed...Goodnight Moon is our favorite. I thought it was a strange book at first, but I have grown to love it. She has a few lines memorized and was "reading" them to us today.

Look at those big 'ol feet!

Re-discovering the touch-light on her nightstand.

Blog #2

Hello all!

I have decided to start another blog in order to separate personal photos and photos I take for others.

Stop by and visit me here.

Jenn & Leo

I was supposed to photograph Jenn and Leo last November (I went to high school with Jenn) but it was the same time I came down with that insanely awful sinus infection. They live in Reno so we finally rescheduled and they braved the Nebraska heat and humidity for a few fun hours of picture-taking. Congrats Jenn and Leo on your upcoming wedding (tomorrow!)

Thank you to my dad for taking the first several pictures...SO cute. Some of them were taken at the free splash park in my parents' neighborhood in Papillion. They took Ayla twice last week. She, of course, loved it.

It's been a great weekend so far. Yesterday evening, we met Dean's parents at Soaring Wings Winery in Springfield, Nebraska for some wine, food, and live outdoor music. It was a wonderful idea to go out there...it was a beautiful evening and Ayla had a blast dancing to the music. There's nothing that puts a smile on my face quicker than seeing her have fun. I forgot my camera, so no pictures from there this time.

This morning, we got up and met Chris, Meghan, and Heidi for breakfast before heading down to the zoo for a couple of hours. Grandpa and Grandma met us there, much to Ayla's delight. :) She seemed to enjoy it more this time...she was excited to see things...to chirp at the birds and roar at the lions. :)

This goat said, "Don't mind if I do!"

Waiting for the "choo-choo train" to leave the station.

07.06.10

I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday weekend. We had a busy one filled with family, friends, running through sprinklers, celebrating Dean's birthday, celebrating a belated Father's Day and Marla's birthday, fireworks, food...and more food.

I love the look on Ayla's face...she looks like trouble. Grant and Ayla were born five days apart...I think this was their first date. They held hands going down the stairs but I was too busy drooling over their cuteness to get a picture of it happening.

06.28.10

All morning, while we were getting ready, I talked to Ayla about how I was going back to work today. She kept saying "no" and wanted me to hold her. Once we got to my parents' house and she started playing and running around, she was totally fine. We both did just fine. :)

She was a very happy girl today...total 180 from how she was yesterday. I think last night she was just getting me back for leaving her for a week.
I wanted just a couple more pictures but she refused to look at me so I used my friend Erika's trick--I told her there was a butterfly in the camera. Hehe. It definitely got her attention, but not only did she not look at me, her expression completely changed and she insisted on seeing the butterfly as she walked towards me. I had to tell her it flew away. :)
